Welcome to the home of the Cambridge High School Cricket Club.  We have a proud history of achievement at Cambridge High School when it comes to cricket and it is our aim to build on our successes over the last few years and have cricket become a year round sport of choice for pupils at Cambridge High School.

We have enjoyed many successes over the last few years, including winning the 1st XI Secondary Schools Competition as recently as 2010.  We are also proud to have had, and continue to have, a number of our players selected for Waikato Valley, Northern Districts and National representative teams.

In 2013 we fielded six teams across a wide range of age groups, cultures and abilities, with a good mix of boys and girls.  These included our Premier, Girls, Colts, NZCT Cup and 1st XI teams.  In addition, 2013 saw the continuation of the growth of our Adaptive Cricket team, “The Cambridge Acorns”, and, following their success against a team from Hamilton earlier in 2012, we continue to look at developing and growing cricket as a sporting option for Cambridge High School pupils with disabilities.  In 2013 we initiated and hosted a mini Adaptive cricket tournament in Term 4 which saw close to 50 players from 3 different schools competing.  2014 will not only see this event held again in Term 4, with the support of Waikato Valley Cricket, but we have begun working with Hamilton Cricket Association also who will be holding a similar event on 26th February at the Waikato University.

2013 also saw the continuation of the annual “Principals Cup” game, between our Year 9 players and a team of Year 8 players from Cambridge Middle School.  This is fast becoming a very popular event with a large tournout of supporters this year.  Congratulations must go to our Year 9's who defended the trophy this year.

During Term 1 of 2013 our Colts team came close to making the NZCT Cup National Tournament losing in their final qualifying match to Tauranga Boys College.  2013 also saw the introduction of our first indoor cricket teams and although they did not have much success they all enjoyed themselves immensely and it was a great opportunity for some preseason preparation for the upcoming summer competitions.

We continue to have a great group of parents and caregivers who provide encouragement and support not only for our players, but also each other ensuring a fun and enjoyable day is had by all involved.  Likewise, we are very privileged to enjoy the help of a number of those parents with such things as coaching, managing, umpiring, scoring, helping on the Cambridge High School Cricket Club committee, providing rides, washing uniforms, working on working bees, fundraising and other logistical support that helps keep our cricket program going throughout the season.

If you would like to become involved in cricket at Cambridge High School, either as a player, a parent, a supporter, an umpire, a scorer, a coach, or even a sponsor, please contact me -
